An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet heavy tank T-10M in 1:35 scale from the maker Meng. The model captures the massive shapes of the last Soviet production heavy tank and offers faithful detail of the hull, the turret and the running gear.
The T-10M was the ultimate version of the Soviet heavy tank T-10, which followed on from the IS series of vehicles. It was taken into service during the Cold War and became the last Soviet heavy tank built in series. It carried a powerful 122 mm gun with a muzzle brake and a bore evacuator, and heavy armor. Its task was to break through defensive positions and to fight the enemy's armored vehicles. A massive cast turret of rounded shapes and a low silhouette were among its recognition features; the arrival of guided missiles and modern medium tanks, however, soon brought the era of heavy tanks to an end.
Finish and paint the running gear with its large wheels before fitting the tracks; the model tends to come with flexible vinyl tracks, which make assembly easier. For a faithful look choose a matte Soviet green, shade the large surfaces gently and highlight the upper edges. Finish with washes in the detail and pigments on the lower parts for the impression of dust from the training grounds.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
