Injection-molded plastic kit of the German assault gun StuG III Ausf. F of late production armed with the long 7.5 cm L48 gun, in 1:35 scale from Takom. The box offers a metal barrel, photo-etched parts and a combination of individual link and length tracks. The hatches can be built open or closed. Figures are not included.
The StuG III was a German assault gun built on the chassis of the Panzer III. The Ausf. F version of 1942 was the first to introduce the long barrel and turned what had been an infantry support vehicle into an effective tank killer; the last examples of this batch received the even longer 7.5 cm L48 gun for greater penetration. Its low silhouette without a rotating turret made the StuG III hard to hit and cheap to build at the same time, one of the most widespread tracked types of the German army.
Finish and paint the running gear, the wheels and the lower hull before closing up. Fit the metal barrel to the gun mantlet; bend the photo-etched fenders and covers over a metal ruler. Assemble the combination of individual link and length tracks carefully so that they seat on the wheels. An airbrush and shade modulation suit German camouflage; create the final weathering with dark washes and dust and mud pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
