The detailed plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the maker MiniArt captures the German self-propelled assault gun Sturmgeschütz III Ausf. G in the version from Alkett production of February 1943. It is a so-called interior kit: it holds a detailed driver's area, a fighting compartment with ammunition, a transmission area and an engine. The hatches can be built open or closed. Workable track links, clear parts, photo-etched accessories, decals for several marking variants and a set of figures are part of the package.
The StuG III was among the most widespread tracked combat vehicles of the German army in the Second World War. It grew out of the chassis of the Panzer III tank and carried a gun of 7.5 cm caliber in the long-barreled version. Originally intended for direct fire support of infantry, it was used more and more often as a tank destroyer as well. The Ausf. G version was the most numerously produced variant.
Because of the rich interior it is a good idea to plan the sequence and to paint the inner spaces before the hull is closed. Use a thin cement for plastic and glue the fine photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. For a faithful look, a base paint, filters, washes and pigments for deposits of mud and dust on the running gear are suitable.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
