An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet T-34/85 medium tank in 1:35 scale from the maker MiniArt. It captures the version with the composite (cast and welded) turret from the production of Plant No. 112 in the summer of 1944. It is a demanding interior kit with a fully detailed inside of the hull and the turret, an engine and a transmission, an ammunition set, openable hatches, individual track links and photo-etched parts. According to the manufacturer's catalog the package offers several marking options.
The T-34/85 was a major improvement of the legendary Soviet T-34 tank. The larger turret with a gun of 85 mm caliber raised the firepower as well as the room for the crew. The vehicles were built in several plants and the individual series differed in details of the turret and the hull. Plant No. 112 (Krasnoye Sormovo in Gorky) was among the key manufacturers and its turret from the summer of 1944 has a characteristic design combining cast and welded sections. Tanks from this period were committed to the extensive operations of the closing phase of the war.
Finish and paint the inside of the hull, the turret and the engine compartment together with the running gear before you close the hull up, otherwise the details will stay hidden. Use a thin cement for plastic and glue the photo-etched parts with super glue. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush. You will create the patina with washes in the recesses and pigments for mud and dust effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
