An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet T-34/85 medium tank in 1:35 scale from the maker MiniArt. The model captures a particular production form from the output of plant No. 112 (Krasnoye Sormovo) of the spring of 1944, that is an early production T-34 with the new turret and the 85 mm gun. The kit belongs to the finely broken-down MiniArt line and contains clear parts, photo-etched sheet and a decal sheet with several marking variants. Check the exact contents of the package and the number of schemes against the details on the box.
The T-34/85 was the upgraded version of the famous T-34 medium tank, armed with a more powerful 85 mm gun in a roomier three-man turret. The new turret relieved the commander, who on the older T-34/76 had to operate the gun at the same time. Vehicles from plant No. 112 had characteristic production features (the shape of the turret, the arrangement of the tanks and the fittings) by which they differed from tanks from other factories. The type became one of the most widespread tanks of the Second World War.
First assemble and paint the running gear and any interior of the hull before you close it — once it is glued together the parts tend to be inaccessible. Cut the parts off the frames and glue them with a liquid cement for plastic, and attach the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Patina suits the single-color Soviet green finish excellently: a dark wash in the recesses, filters to bring the surface to life and pigments for the dust and mud effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
