This injection-molded plastic kit from the Ukrainian brand MiniArt captures the Soviet T-44 medium tank in 1:35 scale in the Interior Kit configuration, that is, with a fully modeled inside. The set contains a detailed driver's position, the fighting compartment, the inside of the turret, the engine with the transmission, individual track links, clear parts, photo-etched parts and a decal sheet. The hatches can be built open or closed.
The T-44 was created at the close of the Second World War as the successor to the famous T-34. It brought a lower, more compact hull and a newly arranged drive train, and in that way it foreshadowed the postwar generation of Soviet tanks that led to the T-54. It never saw extensive combat service, but it did serve in the postwar Soviet army.
Assemble and paint the interior before you close up the hull and the turret, and leave the hatches open so that the detail shows. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. For weathering use washes and pigments for dust and mud effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
