An accessory set of the transmission group for a model of the Soviet T-54 medium tank in the early configuration, 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The T-54 is a Soviet medium tank of postwar design with a 100 mm gun and a cast turret. It was built in many configurations, and early versions differ from later ones in the shape of the turret and in a range of hull details. The transmission and powerplant group sits in the rear part of the hull under removable covers, so it is visible wherever you build the model with the rear end open.
The accessory concentrates on the transmission group of the early T-54 version in 1:35 scale and replaces the kit parts in this place. How many parts the package contains and which kits the set is prepared for are given in the manufacturer's instructions. It does not make a model on its own; it assumes a kit you already have. Before buying it therefore pays to compare how the rear end is handled in your kit and how many covers you want to leave open.
Before you reach for the glue, assemble the parts dry and compare them with the surrounding hull, so that you know how much plastic has to be removed. Cut excess material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest away carefully. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. The relief of the transmission group comes into its own when you pick the surfaces out with a dark wash after painting and run a dry brush over the edges.
The set belongs in the hands of a modeler who builds the T-54 with the rear covers open and does not want an empty space under them. Work with accessories calls for tweezers, a sharp blade and a moment more, but the result is clearly visible on a finished model. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
