An injection-molded plastic kit of the T-55 medium tank in the configuration corresponding to Czechoslovak license production, in 1:35 scale from MiniArt. The model is notable for its rich detail, individual track links, photo-etched and clear parts and several marking options. Check the exact sub-variant (T-55 or T-55A) and the package contents against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The T-55 was one of the most widely used tanks of the Cold War. It was derived from the T-54 and brought a more powerful engine and further refinements. In Czechoslovakia these tanks were built under license in large numbers and a considerable part of the production went for export. The vehicle served for decades with a number of armies around the world and became a symbol of the armored forces of the postwar era. It was precisely the extensive Czechoslovak license production that contributed significantly to its spread and makes this variant interesting from the point of view of Czech military history as well.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and the photo-etched items with cyanoacrylate. Assemble and paint the individual track links and the running gear before you finish the hull and the turret. After applying the base color, emphasize the details with a wash and add dust and mud effects with pigments, which give Cold War tanks convincing wear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
