An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet T-55A medium tank in the Mod.1970 version in 1:35 scale from MiniArt. It is a demanding interior kit with a fully detailed inside of the driver's compartment, the fighting compartment and the turret, with the engine and the transmission, a set of ammunition, hatches that open, individual track links and photo-etched parts. The box offers several marking options.
The T-55 was a Soviet medium tank that followed on from the successful T-54 line and became one of the most widely used tanks of its day. The T-55A version brought, among other things, anti-radiation protection for the crew. The upgrade designated Mod.1970 added a 12.7 mm DShK anti-aircraft machine gun on the turret. The main armament remained a 100 mm gun. The vehicle served for decades in armies all over the world and remains an icon of Cold War armor to this day.
Make full use of the interior and the running gear: finish and paint the inside of the hull, the turret and the engine compartment before you close the hull, so that the details do not stay hidden. Use liquid cement for plastic and glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush. The character of the tank is brought out by washes running into the recesses and pigments for mud and dust effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
