An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet light tank T-70B in 1:35 scale from Zvezda. The model captures the compact hull, the single-man turret with a 45 mm gun and the strengthened running gear of the improved B version. It usually comes with decals for several Red Army vehicles; check the exact contents for the particular box.
The T-70 was a Soviet light tank developed in 1942 and 1943 as the successor to the T-60 and built in large numbers. The T-70B version brought strengthened running gear, a revised exhaust system and a new driver hatch. The armament was a 45 mm gun and a coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun. A cheap tank that was easy to build, it served mainly for infantry support and reconnaissance on the Eastern Front.
First assemble and paint the running gear, and only then close the hull — access to the wheels is difficult afterwards. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement, unify the base with a primer and spray the base green with an airbrush. You create the patina with dark washes into the details, dust pigments on the running gear and fine chipping on the edges and the step areas.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
