An injection-molded plastic kit of the modern Russian T-90A main battle tank in 1:35 scale from the Meng brand. It is a thoroughly worked-out model with a high level of detail; according to the maker it offers working torsion-bar suspension of the running gear, a rotating commander's cupola, a faithfully rendered engine compartment and cement-free, workable double-pin tracks. The hatches can be built open or closed. The exact contents of a particular package are given by the instructions in the box.
The T-90A is an improved version of the Russian T-90 main battle tank which entered service in the middle of the first decade of the twenty-first century and forms the backbone of the Russian ground forces. It carries a 125 mm smoothbore gun able to fire guided missiles as well, explosive reactive armor and a countermeasures system against guided munitions. Compared with the older T-90 the A version was given a welded turret and updated equipment. For the modeler it is attractive contemporary equipment with a striking silhouette.
Assemble the cement-free workable tracks carefully and let them hang freely over the road wheels for a realistic sag. We recommend painting the running gear and the lower hull before closing up. The reactive armor blocks are rewarding for shading and weathering: dark washes into the seams and dust pigments on the running gear and the lower parts give the machine an in-service look. Glue the aerials and the fine parts at the very end so that they do not break off.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
