A fine cord for making the tow cables of light tanks in 1:35 scale is the thinnest of the diameters made and replaces a stiff plastic molding.
Responsibility details are not available.
A flexible cord from which you can form a tow cable on a model, run exactly as you need it. The diameter is chosen for lighter equipment, where a thicker cable would look oversized. The material is a textile fiber, not metal, so it is easy to work with and leaves no sharp ends that could cut you.
Cables molded in a kit tend to be straight, hard and to carry a seam from the mold. A real steel cable, by contrast, hangs freely, sags under its own weight and forms natural loops around the mountings. It is exactly this sag that the observer's eye looks for first, and the cord manages it without heating and bending plastic. A recovery cable was part of the mandatory equipment of armored vehicles in practically every army, so it suits armored cars and artillery tractors as well.
Color the fiber first while it is loose, because once installed you will no longer reach its underside. Then dip it briefly in thinned PVA glue and set it in its final position with tweezers. It holds its shape by itself while drying and stays firm once cured. A metallic look comes from a dark base with a hint of graphite sheen and fine rust settled where it touches the armor. The ends can be covered with eyes from the kit or made from wire.
