Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Tiger I heavy tank in the initial production configuration fielded on the North African front, in 1:35 scale from Rye Field Model. The model captures some of the very first production Tigers with the characteristic features of the early vehicles. The package combines injection-molded plastic with photo-etched parts and details; check the exact contents and the schemes against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Tiger I (Pz.Kpfw.VI Ausf.E, Sd.Kfz.181) was a German heavy tank armed with the feared 88 mm KwK 36 gun. The initial production vehicles can be told by details such as the commander's cupola with vision ports, the drum headlight and the side stowage bins. The first Tigers were fielded in Tunisia at the beginning of 1943 and became the first Tigers the Allies met in battle. Thick armor and a massive gun made them a feared opponent.
Assemble and paint the running gear with its interleaved road wheels and the interior before you close the hull, as the running gear is the key detail on a Tiger. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). North African vehicles usually wore a single-color desert camouflage: after the base coat, bring out the panel lines with a wash and add light dust pigments for a desert look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
