Tramcars of the X series were among the most widespread two-axle motor cars of interwar eastern Europe. The car had a body with wooden and sheet metal infill on a riveted frame, a current collector on the roof, driving positions at the front and the rear and bench seating inside. The vehicles were built in several batches, which differed from one another in details of the body, the windows and the equipment of the driving position; the designation mid type refers precisely to the standard from the middle phase of production. The cars stayed in service for several decades and in later years could be met as trailers or as service cars too.
Rail vehicles in 1:35 scale have large flat areas, so it pays to spend time truing the body up and removing the parting surfaces. Paint and fit the interior and the driving positions before you close the body up and fit the glazing; mask the windows rather than painting them dry. Glue with thin cement for plastic, and fit the roof and the current collector only after painting. The base is a primer, then the main body shade and finally the dividing lines and the lettering. Keep the weathering restrained: dust on the lower body, a greasy tint around the running gear and fine abrasion on the edges of the doors and the steps. Rails with a formation on a diorama board will improve the model markedly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
