Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the early production version of the American medium tank M3 Lee in 1:35 scale from Takom. The box contains injection-molded plastic sprues, photo-etched parts, clear parts and decals. The model captures the characteristic tall silhouette of the tank with the gun placed in a sponson of the hull and a smaller rotating turret.
The M3 Lee was an American medium tank from the beginning of the Second World War, which came about as a quick solution until the later M4 Sherman matured. Its unusual layout put the main 75mm gun in a fixed sponson on the right side of the hull with a limited traverse, while a smaller 37mm gun sat in a rotating turret on top. The tall and conspicuous tank served with American as well as British units; the British called a modified version the Grant. Despite its outdated design it played an important role in North Africa and on other battlefields.
On the Lee tank, assemble and paint the running gear and the lower parts of the hull before you close the sides. Separate the parts with a sharp knife and glue them with thin liquid cement for plastic, and the fine photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. Apply a primer before painting and spray the olive or desert shade with an airbrush in thin coats. Liven up the riveted structure with a panel wash and dry brushing, and apply dust pigments to the running gear and the fenders.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
