An injection-molded plastic kit of the American main battle tank M1A1 Abrams in 1:35 scale from Meng. One box lets you build two versions: the M1A1 AIM of the US Marine Corps, or the M1A1 with the TUSK upgrade package intended for fighting in built-up areas. The kit offers workable individual track links, a working suspension, a barrel with elevation, openable hatches and fine photo-etched parts.
The M1A1 Abrams is an American main battle tank powered by a gas turbine and armed with a 120 mm gun. The AIM version went through an upgrade program, while the TUSK package, the Tank Urban Survival Kit, adds armor and equipment that raise survivability in city fighting. The Abrams is among the most widespread and most combat-proven tanks in service today.
Decide in advance which version you are building, because they differ in equipment and in parts. Finish and paint the running gear and the lower areas before closing up the hull. Assemble the individual track links patiently. Sand and olive camouflage comes to life with a dry brush on the edges, filters and washes in the panel lines and dust pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
