An injection-molded plastic kit of a Willys light cross-country car fitted with a Wasp flamethrower in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Meng. The model captures an unusual field conversion in which the flamethrower equipment was moved onto the chassis of a small vehicle. The kit offers a detailed chassis, an engine bay, clear glazing and the fuel tank for the flamethrower. The exact contents of the package and the number of decal options are given in the manufacturer's catalog.
The Wasp flamethrower was a British weapon of the Second World War, commonly mounted on light tracked vehicles. Moving it onto a Willys cross-country car was an experimental field solution for a fast and mobile use of a flamethrower in clearing fortified positions and trenches. The small, agile car added firepower where heavier equipment could not get through.
Cut the parts off the sprues and glue clean joints with thin modeling cement for plastic. Paint and pick out the chassis and the engine bay before closing the body up. Handle the flamethrower hose and the tank carefully. Once the base color is on, pick the details out with a wash and add dust and mud effects with pigments for faithful field weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
