A set of turned parts in 1:35 scale, armor plugs for models of the German Ferdinand, Elefant and Sturmtiger vehicles.
Responsibility details are not available.
Ferdinand and Elefant are two forms of the same German heavy tank destroyer of the Second World War: the surviving machines went through modifications after their first deployment and from then on were designated Elefant. The Sturmtiger is a heavy assault vehicle built on the chassis of the Tiger I, intended for fighting in built-up areas. All three vehicles are among the exceptionally heavily armored machines built in limited numbers, and for that reason the small details of their armor are usually dealt with on models by replacement parts.
The set is listed as turned parts, armor plugs, that is covers for the openings in the armor. Which piece belongs to which opening on which of the vehicles named is not stated here; the placement is given in the instructions enclosed in the package. Turning gives these parts a regular circular shape, which is hard to achieve on a small plastic part.
Cut off the original plastic detail from the kit with a sharp blade a little away from the surface and carefully sand the remainder flat, so as not to damage the surrounding area. Try the opening for the new part dry; it usually helps to true it lightly with a drill or a round file. The parts are not polystyrene and cement for plastic has no effect on them; use super glue and only a minimal amount, so that it does not wick into the surroundings. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface.
The model, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
