Grunau Baby IIB / Nord 1300, the Over Western Europe boxing, is a plastic kit of the German training glider in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the classic Grunau Baby IIB training glider in 1:48 scale. The designation Nord 1300 belongs to the version of the same glider built under license in postwar France. The Over Western Europe boxing offers schemes of machines operated in western Europe. Check the actual package contents, the number of parts and the marking options against the manufacturer's information.
The Grunau Baby was a single-seat unpowered glider with characteristic long wings of elliptical plan, designed in the early 1930s. It became one of the most widespread training gliders of its time and in many countries served for basic flying training and gliding. Postwar production under license in France ran under the designation Nord 1300. As a glider it has no power plant and gets into the air by a winch or aerotow launch.
Cut the parts from the sprues and glue them with liquid modeling cement for plastic. With the long thin wings, take care over an accurate and firm joint with the fuselage and over setting them symmetrically, so that the model keeps the correct geometry. Apply a primer before painting; the simple schemes of gliders come into their own with a smooth coat applied by airbrush. Fit the cockpit glazing only after painting and use masks for clean frame edges if you wish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
