A set of masking stencils for a model of the Let C-11 trainer in the version marked Aeroklub Mlada Boleslav, in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The C-11 is a two-seat trainer, the license-built version of the Soviet Yak-11 produced in Czechoslovakia. It was powered by a piston radial engine and the crew sat in tandem under long glazing that runs over both seats. After their military service, aircraft of this type also appeared in civil colors with flying clubs, so both a military and a sporting guise belong to it.
The long glazed canopy is the most laborious place on a C-11 model: there are many frames, they are narrow and they have to line up on both sides. Cutting masking tape for them piece by piece takes longer than the whole rest of the build. Ready-made stencils cut that work short and the paint edge comes out crisp. The set is listed for the version marked Aeroklub Mlada Boleslav in 1:48 scale; the exact scope of the stencils is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The surface has to be clean, dry and degreased. Put the stencils on before spraying and press the edges down carefully against the part so that no paint runs under them; transfer the small pieces with tweezers. Apply the paint in several thin coats, because one heavy coat leaves a step at the edge. Take the stencils off soon after the paint has dried and pull them away at an angle across the edge.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The exact scope of the set is given by the manufacturer in the instructions.
