An injection-molded plastic kit of the AAVP7A1 amphibious tracked assault carrier in the RAM/RS version in 1:72 scale from the Japanese maker Aoshima. The model offers a well worked-out interior with an openable rear ramp, optionally buildable add-on armor and additional armament.
The AAV7 is an amphibious vehicle of the US Marine Corps which carries a landing party from the decks of ships directly onto the shore and on further overland. The RAM/RS program meant a modernization of the running gear and a rebuild to a single standard, thanks to which the vehicles stayed in service after 2000 as well. Characteristic of it are the low boxy hull and the ability to swim with track propulsion.
Finish and paint the running gear and the interior before you close the hull up. Apply a primer before spraying, then washes and dry pigments over the uniform shade, which will create the dust and salt effects typical of operation in the surf and on a beach. The add-on armor can be left on or left out as you choose.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
