Light anti-aircraft guns of around 37 mm caliber were among the most widespread defenses against low-flying aircraft during the Second World War and in the post-war years. Against heavy anti-aircraft guns they had a shorter range, but they fired quickly and in bursts, so they could hit a fast-moving target at low altitude. The crew moved them on a wheeled trailer and set them on a deployed carriage before firing, so that the weapon did not jump about while shooting. It was aimed by hand, by traversing and elevating directly at the weapon, and a numerous crew shared the aiming, the feeding of ammunition and the watching of the sky.
This is a kit of the weapon itself in 1:72 scale. In this scale the model comes out small and suits mainly as a companion to vehicles and figures in the same scale, or as an element of a diorama where it fills a role the vehicle alone cannot. The range of parts and the building sequence are guided by the instructions enclosed with the kit.
Separate the small parts with a sharp blade and put them down on a tray with a rim, because in this scale they are lost instantly. Assemble the carriage on a flat surface, so that the model stands on all its supports at once. Set the barrel on the centerline and let it dry without touching it. Apply the paint in thin coats, otherwise the molded detail disappears on a small part. Final emphasis of the shadows and the edges helps a model in this scale more than in large scales, because otherwise it merges into a single mass.
A model kit is supplied. Paints, glue and a base are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
