An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Polish maker IBG Models representing the British Crusader cruiser tank converted into an anti-aircraft vehicle with a pair of 20 mm Oerlikon guns in an open turret. The kit has a modern design with fine surface detail, and the package is completed by photo-etched parts and decals. The open turret with its armament is a rewarding feature for detailed work.
The Crusader was a British cruiser (fast) tank used above all in the North African campaign. A number of special-purpose versions were built on its chassis; the anti-aircraft variant carried 20 mm Oerlikon rapid-fire guns in an open turret, intended to protect armored units against attacks from low level. The vehicle combined the mobility of a cruiser tank with a defense against aircraft.
Finish the running gear and the inside of the open turret before closing the hull. Use thin cement on the plastic and super glue on the fine photo-etched parts. A primer and spraying with an airbrush are advisable; the desert shades of the North African theater are typical. Washes and dust or mud pigments will bring out the weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
