1:72 German Headquarter Winter

German Headquarters Winter, 1:72 scale, Zvezda

A plastic set of unassembled and unpainted figures of a German headquarters staff in winter uniforms of the Second World War period, in 1:72 scale. It is an injection-molded plastic set of figures, commanders and staff officers, suitable for building, painting and as a striking element of a winter headquarters diorama. Zvezda is a well-established manufacturer of plastic models and figures.

The real subject

The set captures a German field staff in winter gear as it could be seen on the Eastern Front during the hard winters. Figures of officers over a map or giving orders are a rewarding central motif of a winter scene with vehicles. Winter greatcoats and caps leave room for effective painting and weathering.

Building and painting tips

• Cut the figures off the sprue and clean up the mold seams (the sprue nubs).
• On the softer plastic use a suitable cement or cyanoacrylate glue; apply a primer before painting.
• Paint with acrylics: a base coat, shadows into the folds and dry brushing on the edges.
• Support the winter scene with light shades of the greatcoats and a suggestion of snow and mud on the boots and the hems.

Who the set is for

• For modelers and builders of winter dioramas of the Second World War.
• For wargamers who need command figures in 1:72 scale.
• For collectors of historical figures.

The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
