An injection-molded plastic kit of a heavy tank in 1:72 scale from the Belarusian maker PST. The model captures a Soviet heavy tank with a characteristic tall, boxy turret, which the Wehrmacht captured and took into service under the designation 754(r). It is a short-run kit; the exact contents of the box and the marking schemes follow the instructions in it.
The subject is a Soviet heavy tank from the start of the Second World War that carried a massive turret with a large-caliber howitzer intended for destroying fortifications. Its tall silhouette and considerable weight made it a conspicuous but hard-hitting vehicle. Some of these tanks fell into German hands in 1941 and were operated with German markings. The designation 754(r) is a German captured-equipment number, and the letter r refers to the Soviet origin.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. First finish the running gear and the underside of the hull, and only then close the superstructure and fit the turret. Apply a primer before painting, best with an airbrush. For the patina, dark washes into the recesses and dust pigments on the running gear work well. On a captured vehicle the combination of original and overpainted markings is striking.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
