1:72 Russian U-5TS (2A20) 115 mm tank Barrel for T-62

Turned U-5TS (2A20) 115 mm gun barrel for the T-62 (1:72)

This is a detail accessory, not a standalone model. The precisely turned metal gun barrel replaces the plastic gun part and considerably raises the realism of a model of the T-62 tank in 1:72 scale. The manufacturer is the Polish brand Aber, which specializes in precise metal and photo-etched accessories.

The real subject

The U-5TS (2A20) was the 115mm smoothbore gun of the Soviet T-62 medium tank. It was one of the first smoothbore tank weapons put into large-scale service, and thanks to it the T-62 had a marked advantage in firepower for its time.

Use and fitting

• It replaces the plastic barrel of the base model of the T-62 tank in that scale.
• Turned metal guarantees a perfectly straight profile without casting seams and mold parting marks.
• Cyanoacrylate glue is recommended; degrease the metal parts before gluing.
• Before painting it is a good idea to use a primer for metal.

Who it is for

• For modelers of military vehicles who want a more accurate barrel.
• For builders of T-62 models in 1:72 scale.
• For more advanced modelers used to metal accessories.

The accessory does not contain a model of the tank, paints or glue. It is a replacement barrel only.
