A glazing mask for the two-seat versions of the SEPECAT Jaguar attack aircraft, that is, the French Jaguar E and the British T.Mk.2, in 1:72.
Responsibility details are not available.
The British and French attack aircraft came out of a joint program of the two countries, and the very first to fly, in September 1968, was the two-seat Jaguar E training variant. The French Air Force took forty of them, while the Royal Air Force operated a similar machine under the designation T.Mk.2. The lengthened fuselage with its tandem cockpit carried full combat equipment, so ground attack could be taught on it as well. The French retired the type in 2005 and the British two years later.
The longer cockpit of the two-seat version has more frames than the single-seat Jaguar, and tracing them with hand-cut tape tends to be the slowest part of the work at a small scale. Die-cut pieces do away with that step: you transfer them onto the glazing, they seat on the frame and the edge stays straight over its whole length.
Wash the glazing in lukewarm water with detergent, rinse it and dry it without rubbing. Seat the masks with fine-tipped tweezers, press them down with a cotton swab and tape off the surroundings. It pays to spray a thin coat of the interior color first so that the frames have the right shade from inside as well. When you have finished, peel the masks off at a shallow angle.
The type was designed for fast flight at low level, so it received a rugged landing gear with tires for rough-field conditions and a wing that stands up to gusts. It is exactly these qualities that lie behind the aircraft finding favor with several export users in Asia and in North Africa.
The aircraft kit is not in the package and the set is no substitute for decals with the national insignia either.
