Photo-etched metal parts in 1:72 scale for a model of the Hawker Tempest Mk. V fighter, carried under the manufacturer's part number SS772.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hawker Tempest Mk. V was a British single-seat fighter of the closing years of the Second World War, derived from the Typhoon but with a new thinner wing section that gave it back its performance at higher altitudes. It was powered by the Napier Sabre piston engine with its cylinders arranged in an H-block. The Tempest was among the fastest machines of its day at low altitude and made its name shooting down V-1 flying bombs.
The photo-etched metal fret brings parts of a thickness that injection-molded plastic can never reach. On a model that shows above all where the material is meant to look thin: on pierced grilles, on levers and brackets in the cockpit or on the seat belts. The scope of the set and the kit it is tuned to are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Work over a tray with raised edges, as a small metal part will spring away and you will not find it again. Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp blade and then level the remains of the tab with a fine file. Make the bends along the scribed lines in a bending tool or between two blades. It is bonded with super glue laid on in a minute amount, ideally with the tip of a wire; cement for plastic models will not join metal. Degrease the metal before painting and lay down a primer meant for metal.
The kit, paints, primer and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
