A set of plastic historical figures in 1:72 scale from the maker MARS Model. It is not one model but a set of soldiers in various poses to be glued together and painted, intended for dioramas and for wargaming. The set represents American paratroopers of the Second World War period. The figures are supplied as unpainted plastic on a sprue.
American paratroopers were among the elite units of the Second World War; the 101st and the 82nd Airborne Division in particular made their name. They were committed on key operations, among others at the landings in Normandy and in further campaigns in western Europe. The paratroopers were trained for drops behind enemy lines, for rapidly seizing bridges, crossroads and strongpoints and for fighting with light equipment. The set captures these soldiers in combat poses with period equipment and armament.
Carefully cut the figures out of the sprue and clean up the flash with a knife or a fine file. Glue the parts with a suitable glue (a cement for plastic models on hard plastic, cyanoacrylate on softened material). Apply a base coat (a primer) before painting for better adhesion. Paint with acrylic figure paints, break the uniform and the equipment down into individual areas of color and bring out the details with a fine brush, deepening the shadows with a wash.
The set is supplied as unpainted plastic figures. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
