This set from the brand Mars holds 32 unglued plastic figures in eight different poses and a set of weapons. The large number of figures is a strong point: you can bring a whole unit into one scene. It is not a model of a vehicle or an aircraft but a set of foot figures in 1:72 scale which the modeler cuts from the sprues, assembles, paints and uses in dioramas, in a display case or for tabletop war games. Paints and glue are not included in the package.
The figures render the US Marines of the Second World War period. The Marines bore the main weight of the fighting in the Pacific, the landings and the battles for the Pacific islands against the Japanese army. Eight combat poses make it possible to build a living scene of attack and of defense alike.
Carefully cut the figures off the sprues and clean up the parting lines and the excess plastic. Glue the small parts, the weapons and the joints with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), or with a cement for plastic. Before painting, spray the whole with a base primer, as the paint then holds and covers better. Paint with acrylic paints with a brush or an airbrush; the uniforms, the equipment and the faces come out with washes and a dry brush.
The figures are supplied unglued and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
