A bright green filter for toning and evening out a coat that has already dried on the model. It is applied in thin coats over the whole area or only on selected panels.
Responsibility details are not available.
A filter is a heavily thinned paint that the modeler applies over a dry base coat in order to shift its shade gently. Unlike an ordinary paint it does not cover the surface, it only tints it, evens out neighboring areas and rids the model of the flat uniformity that a freshly sprayed coat has. This filter has a bright green tone. It therefore suits places where the base should gain a fresher green cast, or where the difference between several green shades on one machine needs to be evened out.
Stir the contents of the bottle thoroughly before use, because the pigment settles at the bottom. It is applied in thin coats with a soft brush or with an airbrush, either over the whole area or only on selected panels. The effect is cumulative, so it pays to start with one light coat, let it dry and only then judge whether to add another. The thinner intended for this range and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
The filter comes into play only on a smooth and well dried coat, that is as a rule after a clear coat that evens out the surface and makes spreading easier. The further aging steps, such as washes, edge highlighting or pigments, follow only once the filter has dried.
The model, brushes, thinner and varnish are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise. The volume of the package and the recommended procedure are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
