A self-adhesive aluminum tape 10 mm wide and 10 m long from AMMO of Mig Jimenez, intended for modeling work and surface treatment.
Responsibility details are not available.
A roll of thin aluminum tape with an adhesive layer, 10 mm wide and 10 m long. The metal is pliable enough to be shaped with your fingers or a blunt tip and takes the shape of the surface, but once pressed down it keeps that shape. Against paint it has one advantage that no finish will ever match: the surface is real metal, so it shines and reflects light like metal, not like a sprayed area.
You cut the tape into strips as narrow as you like and use it wherever there is to be a thin metal band or a shiny area on a model. It serves to suggest metal strips and plates, to cover seams, to strengthen joints and as a base for further treatment. It also finds a use outside the build itself, for example when holding small parts down on a work surface.
Cut it with a sharp blade along a ruler on a hard surface, as scissors easily wave the edge. Clean and degrease the base before sticking it down, as the tape holds substantially worse on a greasy surface. Lay the tape on, press it down from the center toward the edges and push the air out with a blunt tip or a wooden stick. Paint does not hold on a metal surface without a base coat, so count on a primer layer when painting.
Paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
