Gunze Aqueous Gray Surfacer 1000 Spray (gray filler primer)

This is a filler primer (surfacer) in a spray can from the Aqueous acrylic range, thinned with water or with Aqueous thinner. It is not a paint for the final shade but a base layer: it creates a uniform gray surface on which paint holds better and covers evenly. The number 1000 marks the fineness: surfacer 1000 has a finer grain than the coarser 500, so it fills only small scratches and does not clog fine detail. Compared with cellulose primers the Aqueous range has a markedly weaker smell.

Use

• Shake the can thoroughly before use and spray from a distance in thin coats.
• The gray base unifies a surface made up of parts of different colors, of plastic, filler and photo-etch.
• It reveals scratches, gaps and places not sanded enough, which you can then easily put right.
• It raises the adhesion of the paint that follows and reduces the risk of it peeling.
• Once dry, the surface can be wet sanded lightly.
