Gun Metallic is a dark metallic tone that stays close to black while remaining cool and glossy. It is the shade of polished gun steel: in the light it gleams, in shadow it merges into a dark gray. Against warmer metallic tones it comes across as technical and clean, which is why it suits parts kept in service rather than rusted remains. The marker is listed under the designation CM-04.
On hand weapons and machine guns, on pylons and pins, on lever controls, on the hydraulic rams of landing gear, on tools fixed to the outside of vehicles and on the small mechanical parts of figures as well as vehicles. It is also useful where a black plastic part is meant to look like metal without your having to set up an airbrush for it. In small scales it is enough to run the metallic tone over the edges and the cutting edges alone, because the eye fills in the rest of the surface by itself.
