Decal Fix se nanáší na POVRCH modelu PŘED položením obtisku a zlepšuje přilnavost — pomáhá obtisk přichytit a vytlačit zpod něj bublinky. Decal Softener se nanáší až NA POLOŽENÝ OBTISK, změkčí ho a přisaje do rytých linií a nerovností. Fix jde první, Softener druhý. Nejsou zaměnitelné.

Na rovné hladké ploše často stačí samotný Decal Fix. Jakmile má obtisk sednout přes ryté panelové linie, nýty nebo zaoblení, potřebujete i Decal Softener — Fix sám obtisk nezměkčí natolik, aby kopíroval reliéf povrchu.

Matný lak má mikroskopicky drsný povrch, ve kterém pod obtiskem zůstane vzduch — obtisk pak lemuje bílý „stříbrný“ závoj. Na lesklém podkladu obtisk přilne celou plochou. Matný vzhled se dodělá až závěrečným lakem přes zaschlé obtisky.

Chová se jako velmi jemné lepidlo pro obtisky — zvyšuje přilnavost obtisku k povrchu. Není to ale modelářské lepidlo na plast a nepoužívá se k lepení dílů.
