Ready-made grass tufts with fibers 6 mm high, in a dry grass finish according to the name, for dioramas and bases.
Responsibility details are not available.
Grass tufts are ready-made clumps of fibers that are glued onto a diorama or a base one by one. Compared with scattered grass they hold their shape and look like real growth, that is denser in the middle and thinner at the edges. This version, according to the name, imitates dry grass of the kind that grows at the edges of roads, on embankments and in places burnt by the sun at the end of summer.
The fibers measure 6 mm. In 1:35 scale that corresponds to roughly twenty centimeters of real grass, and in 1:72 scale to roughly forty centimeters. The tufts therefore suit figure bases, dioramas with equipment and scenes where the growth is to be taller and looser. The exact number of tufts in the package is stated on the package.
Pick the tuft up with tweezers, press its underside onto a drop of PVA glue and hold it for a moment; some tufts come with an adhesive underside, which you can check on the package. Do not place them regularly, because nature is not regular: set them in groups, leave bare patches between them and put the taller tufts where nobody would tread on them. Once dry, the fibers can be trimmed with scissors and blended with the color of the groundwork by a light spray.
They will be reached for by the modeler who is building a scene around a vehicle or a figure and does not want to get into scattering static grass with an electrostatic applicator. Working with ready-made tufts is quick and clean and can be interrupted at any time; the result is also easy to correct, because a tuft can be peeled off and stuck elsewhere.
Glue, a base and other scenic material are not included, unless stated otherwise.
