The fourth volume of the Encyclopedia of Wargames book series, devoted to speed painting figures. The text is in English.
Responsibility details are not available.
The fourth volume of the Encyclopedia of Wargames book series focuses, by its name, on speed painting figures, that is on the part of tabletop gaming where the modeler is not facing one figure for a display case but a whole group to be painted and made ready for play in a reasonable time. The book is in English; Czech is not provided for it.
Speed painting is the established term in wargaming for methods built on a small number of steps: a base layer, toning and picking out the edges. The aim is not to bring one figure to perfection but to match a whole unit so that it reads as one on the table and stays legible at arm's length. Work is usually done in batches: one color is applied across the whole group of figures at once, and only then does the next come, which saves time both in mixing and in cleaning the brush. The series covers this subject in several volumes, and there are also volumes on scenery and on painting vehicles.
It suits players who have a larger number of unpainted figures at home and are looking for a way to get through them, and modelers who are only coming to figures and want to sort out the order of the steps. Reading a specialist text in English is a precondition; with titles of this kind the pictures carry a lot, but the text cannot be skipped.
The book alone is sold. Paints, brushes and figures do not belong to it, unless stated otherwise.
