The Gunze modeling file in the blade form has a flat, very thin profile that reaches into seams and gaps where an ordinary file will not fit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A file shaped like a thin blade. The profile is exactly what matters here: while an ordinary modeling file has a noticeable body height and jams in a narrow seam, the blade form passes even where the clearance is only a few tenths of a millimeter. It is used mainly for places that sandpaper and a sanding sponge cannot reach.
The line also holds classic flat files in a coarse and a fine grade, half-round and square profiles and diamond versions. Those are meant to take material off on open surfaces. The blade form, on the other hand, solves access, not the speed of sanding. So it is not a replacement for a flat file but a complement for places that would otherwise stay unworked.
For a modeler who builds busy kits with many mold parting lines, deals with the fit of parts and wants a tool for places where ordinary abrasives fail.
Sanding plastic and resin produces fine dust. Work in a ventilated space and clean the surface after sanding so that dust does not stay under the paint.
