Fresh Color Set For Figure

Fresh Color Set For Figure (Gunze)

A set of bottled modeling paints from the Japanese manufacturer Gunze aimed at painting figures. The designation Fresh is traditionally used by Japanese paint manufacturers for flesh tones, so the set is intended above all for faces and exposed parts of the body. The exact composition of the set, the number of bottles, the individual shades and the volume, is stated on the box.

What type of paint it is

The code series the set belongs to falls at Gunze under the solvent-based Mr. Color line. That is essential information: this is not a water-thinnable acrylic. The paint is thinned with the lacquer thinner of the same brand, or with its slow-drying variant, and certainly not with water. Gunze keeps three mutually incompatible chemistries side by side: the solvent-based lacquer one, the water-thinnable acrylic one and a separate acrylic line with its own thinner. They cannot be mixed with one another or used to thin one another, and each has its own thinner. The advantages of the lacquer line are quick drying, a hard and durable film and very fine atomization with an airbrush.

Use

• Stir the bottle thoroughly before use; the pigment settles to the bottom.
• For an airbrush, thin the paint with the thinner of the same line; choose the ratio according to the pressure and the diameter of the nozzle.
• Apply thin coats on figures and build the shades up in stages: skin comes about through layering, not through one coat.
• Work in a well-ventilated space, as lacquer thinners have a strong smell.
• Clean brushes with the thinner of the same line, not with water.

Who the set is for

For modelers who paint figures and want a durable, smooth finish with quick drying. It is also suitable for those who already work with the solvent-based Gunze paints and want to use them in one system with the thinner of the same brand. Beginners who work exclusively with water-thinnable acrylics should count on different handling and on the need to obtain the appropriate thinner.

The paints are flammable. Use them in a ventilated space, away from open flame and out of reach of children. Keep them in the original container with the cap tightly closed.
