About product

Panel Line Accent Pour Type, gray (Gunze / Mr.Hobby)

A liquid paint for picking out engraved panel lines - seams, grooves and rivets. It has such a thin consistency that once a brush is placed against a groove it runs by capillary action along the whole length of the line: you do not have to paint anything laboriously, the paint runs down the groove on its own. Once dry, the excess is wiped off with a cloth or a cotton bud moistened with thinner - the paint stays in the groove and disappears from the smooth surface. The result: the lines stand out, the model gains depth and a sense of scale. Without this step a model looks flat like a toy; with it, like a real machine. Gray gives a finer and more natural effect, less drawn-on than black.

Use

  • Ideal for light gray aircraft, ships and light-colored vehicles - it looks natural, not like ink.
  • A finer contrast than black; for dark models and maximum contrast choose black.
  • It works best on a smooth gloss or semi-gloss coat - the paint runs cleanly and wipes off easily.
  • On a matte surface it runs into the pores as well and soils the area, which then cannot be wiped clean.
  • Recommended sequence: gloss coat, panel lines, matte coat to even the surface out.

Who it is for

For modelers of aircraft, ships, vehicles and robots who want to pick out engraved detail naturally and without laborious painting. Three shades - black, gray and brown - are chosen according to the color and type of the model.

It contains a solvent - use in a well-ventilated area, out of the reach of children and away from open flame. Test it in a hidden place before use; wipe the excess off with the matching thinner.

FAQ

No. You place a brush against the groove and the thin paint runs along the whole groove on its own. Then you simply wipe the excess off the surface.

On light gray aircraft, ships and light-colored vehicles. It gives a finer, more natural contrast; black would look too hard and drawn-on on a light surface.

Best on a smooth gloss or semi-gloss coat. On a matte surface it runs into the pores and soils the area. Recommended sequence: gloss coat, lines, matte coat.
