A green fluorescent color from the Precision Fluor line by AK interactive. It is the color of glowing displays and radar screens, of night lighting on instrument panels, of an aircraft's starboard navigation light and of green markings on control panels. On science fiction equipment and gaming figures it is used to paint energy cores, light tubes and traces of strange fluids.
Fluorescent pigment returns the incoming light at a different wavelength, so it looks more saturated than a mixed green and shows up most under an ultraviolet lamp. It does not glow by itself in the dark; it is not a phosphorescent paint. Coverage is weaker than with ordinary paints and the surface underneath shows through a thin coat.
Apply two or three thin coats over a white base and let each one dry. On a display or a radar screen it pays to lay silver or white underneath, so that the area looks as if the light came from inside. Apply small warning lights with the tip of a brush or a scribing point, drop by drop, so the paint does not run over the frame. Darken the area around the glowing spot slightly, because contrast does more for the impression of a glow than the saturation of the color itself. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for thinning and for cleaning tools.
For modelers of cockpits and interiors, builders of science fiction equipment and figure painters who want readable light accents. It is sold separately, and the model, thinner and clear coat are not included, unless stated otherwise.
