Flexible abrasive paper for modelers in the fine grade, 600 grit. A refill pack means that it is a top-up of a stock of abrasive sheets; what exactly the package holds is given on the packaging. Flexibility matters with this type: the paper can be bent around a rounded shape, folded over an edge or trimmed into a strip, and it will reach places a sanding block cannot.
600 grit is fine. It suits smoothing joints and filled areas after coarser grits, evening out a surface before a primer goes on and removing small traces of manufacture that would stand out once sprayed. For taking down thick material it is needlessly fine; for that, reach for the coarser grits of the range, which are sold separately.
Sand lightly and in one direction, as pressure only spoils the result. Check the surface against the light as you go, best after a light coat of flat paint, because a scratch is not visible on bare plastic. On rounded shapes, back the paper with a pad of sponge, so that the abrasive surface follows the shape and no flat facets form. Finally, clear the dust from the work, otherwise every grain will show under the paint.
The paper will be appreciated by anyone who builds in plastic and wants the joints invisible, but it will also serve for preparing a surface before painting and for truing small parts. A fine grit forgives mistakes, so it is safe to use even on small areas, where a coarser paper would take off more material than is good for them.
A holder, a sanding block and other tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
