Responsibility details are not available.
A group of paints from the IONIC range, part number IONIC-0461, named Set Malifaux Forged in Malifaux NMM Gold. The abbreviation NMM spells out as non metallic metal and denotes a painting technique, not the material of the paint. The word Gold states that the set is aimed at a gold scale, and Forged in Malifaux names the theme. How many shades the set contains and which they are is stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
Metal on a figure does not look like metal because of a glossy pigment but because of contrast. What is painted is therefore a sharp difference between an almost white highlight and a very dark shadow, in the places where the light would really fall. You decide in advance where the light source will be and keep it the same over the whole figure, otherwise the surfaces start to contradict each other. Gold has a warmer middle than steel, so work goes in a yellow-brown to ocher register and pure white is saved for the sharpest edges alone.
Stir the paint thoroughly before work, the pigment settles at the bottom. Proceed in thin coats and add the next one only once the previous has dried; a transition is drawn out by repeated coats of heavily thinned paint, not by one stroke. Choose the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions on the packaging. It pays to try the layout of the highlights on a test piece first, because putting right an area already painted is more laborious than thinking it out in advance.
The package holds a set of shades according to the manufacturer's data. A figure, thinner, brushes and varnishes are not included, unless stated otherwise.
