Ne. Je to olejová barva. Neředí se vodou, ale lakovým benzinem nebo bezzápachovým ředidlem na oleje, a zasychá řádově déle než akryl.

Podstatně déle než akryl — počítejte s hodinami až dny podle tloušťky vrstvy a teploty. Konkrétní čas výrobce v katalogu neuvádí, proto ho netvrdíme. Dlouhé schnutí je zde výhoda, ne vada.

Bezpečnější je akryl nejdřív uzavřít lakem. Ředidlo na oleje může nezalakovanou akrylovou vrstvu naleptat. Vždy si postup vyzkoušejte na skrytém místě.

Karton odsaje přebytečné olejové pojivo. Bez toho zůstávají kolem nanesené barvy mastné okraje, které se špatně odstraňují a prosvítají i pod lakem.
