A set of modeling paints from AMMO of Mig Jimenez put together for Luftwaffe aircraft of the later period of the Second World War. The shades in it follow on from one another, so they will cover both the upper camouflage areas and the underside of the fuselage and wings, with some left over for smaller detail areas.
The paints are applied with an airbrush as well as a brush. Stir the bottle thoroughly before working; settled pigment otherwise covers unevenly. Work in several thin coats and let the finish set between them; one heavy coat floods the engraving and is easily damaged once dry. Use the thinner and the thinning ratio according to the manufacturer's instructions for this range.
Before painting, wash and degrease the model and lay a base coat on it; on bare plastic and on metal parts the paint holds considerably less well. Late camouflage on German aircraft had both hard and soft transitions, depending on how and with what it was sprayed. A sharp boundary is made by masking tape laid down tight; a soft transition comes about when you hold the tape or a rolled length of modeling putty a few millimeters above the surface. The shades in the set can be mixed with each other, which is useful both for suggesting fading on large areas and for subtle grading of color in the middle of panels.
A model, thinner, brushes and an airbrush are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
