A paint set from the IONIC range and, within it, from the Real Heavy Metal sub-range. The word Set is in the name itself, so this is a package of several containers named after the shade Mercury Turquoise, not a single bottle. The extent of the package, that is the number of containers and their volume, is stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.
Turquoise lies between blue and green, and the word Mercury points to its cool register shifted toward green. It comes into its own on the patinated surfaces of statues and domes in a diorama, on the energy elements and displays of science fiction buildings, on the magical effects of figures and on the bold painted parts of machinery. Compare the actual register of the tone with the manufacturer's color chart; the name suggests the direction, but a shade shown on a screen always differs a little from the applied paint.
Stir the contents of the container properly before picking the paint up; settled pigment at the bottom is normal in modeling paints. The thinner intended for this range and the thinning ratio are stated by the manufacturer and those instructions take precedence, because a thinner from another range may curdle the paint. Apply in thin coats and let each one dry, otherwise the engraving is flooded and the surface texture disappears. Wash and degrease the surface beforehand, as a coat holds considerably better on a clean area. Turquoise stands out well beside dark surroundings, so keep it rather to smaller areas and accents.
