Mr Weathering Liner Rust Set

Mr. Weathering Liner Rust Set (Gunze)

A weathering set from the Japanese manufacturer Gunze aimed at corrosion effects. It is neither a kit nor an ordinary covering paint: it is a product for the final stage of work, when the model is already painted and the point is to give it believable traces of service and age. Rust is the effect that gives a model away most of all. In nature it does not form evenly, but in the places where water sits and where the paint film is broken. The exact number of pieces in the package, their form and the volume are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.

Use

• Work only on a completely dry base coat; on a glossy surface the effect holds worse than on a matte one.
• Apply the rust deliberately, around rivets, welds and hatches, on lower edges and in places where water would run down.
• Go a little at a time and build it up in layers. Taking excess off is always more work than adding more.
• Blend the effect from the top downward, so that the streaks follow the vertical run of water.
• Seal the result with a protective varnish at the end, otherwise it rubs off during handling.

Who the set is for

For modelers of military vehicles, ships, railroads and dioramas who want to work with texture and age as well as with a clean coat of paint. It also serves well on civilian machinery, farm machines and industrial buildings, where corrosion is a natural part of the look. For beginners we recommend trying the effect first on an offcut of sprue or on an older model.

Work in a ventilated space, do not inhale the product and avoid contact with the eyes. Keep out of reach of children and store it in the original packaging.
