Mr Weathering Liner Snow Set

Mr. Weathering Liner Snow Set (Gunze)

A weathering set from the Japanese manufacturer Gunze aimed at winter effects. It is neither a kit nor a covering paint: it is a product for the final stage of work, with which you build up patches of snow, frozen deposits and pale bloom on the surfaces of a painted model. A winter scene lives on contrast, with pale deposits in the hollows against a darker, chilled machine. The exact number of pieces in the package, their form and the volume are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging.

Use

• Work on a completely dry coat of paint, and preferably on a matte surface.
• Put the snow where it would hold in reality: into hollows, at the edges of hatches, on horizontal surfaces and in the shade under projections.
• Avoid even coverage; snow that has thawed and frozen again forms irregular clumps.
• Combine it with a darkening of the lower areas, because a purely white model with no grime looks unconvincing.
• Seal the effect with a protective varnish at the end, so that it does not come off during handling.

Who the set is for

For builders of winter dioramas and display scenes, for modelers of military and civilian vehicles who want to set a model in a particular season, and for railroad modelers. Winter effects are among the more demanding disciplines, because they are easily overdone, so it pays to go a little at a time and to leave pauses between the layers.

Work in a ventilated space, do not inhale the product and avoid contact with the eyes. Keep out of reach of children and store it in the original packaging.
