Mineshima Precision Nipper D22

Precision modeling nippers (sprue cutters) from the Japanese brand Mineshima, about 125 mm long overall. The tool is made of hard tool steel and has a shaped handle that keeps the hand from tiring even over longer sessions. It serves to separate injection-molded plastic parts cleanly from the sprues of a kit.

Use

• Separating plastic parts from the sprue as close to the part as possible.
• Shortening pins and removing surplus plastic before sanding.
• Suitable for building plastic models, figures and dioramas alike.
• Hold the part with your other hand so that it does not fly off.

Who it is for

For beginners and experienced modelers alike who want a clean cut without straining the plastic needlessly. After nipping, it is a good idea to trim the remaining sprue gate with a knife or sand it down.

The tool is intended for plastic only. Do not cut metal wire, rod or photo-etched parts with it, as the blade would be damaged. Protect the edge from being dropped and keep it clean and dry.
