1:35 Sd.Kfz 251/22 Ausf.D canvas

Black Dog 1:35 Sd.Kfz 251/22 Ausf.D canvas

A resin accessory representing a rolled or stretched canvas cover for the Sd.Kfz 251/22 Ausf.D half-track vehicle in 1:35 scale. It is not a vehicle kit but a single cast part which replaces or completes the canvas cover of the body and gives the model the soft, textile look that is hard to achieve with plastic parts.

The real subject

The Sd.Kfz 251/22 Ausf.D was a late variant of the German half-track carrier fitted with a 7.5 cm anti-tank gun (the so-called Pakwagen), an improvised weapon platform from the end of the Second World War. The canvas protected the crew compartment and the crew's equipment.

Building and painting tips

• Wash the mold release agent off the casting and cut off the casting block, sanding the surfaces as needed.
• Bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate).
• Pick out the fabric with dust washes and a dry brush, and lighten the folds with a dry brush for the impression of cloth.

Who the accessory is for

• Builders of German tracked vehicles in 1:35
• Modelers who want a realistic canvas instead of a plastic part
• Builders of dioramas from the end of the war

This is a resin accessory, not a kit. Paints, glue and the vehicle are not included in the package.
